Life - how do I get connected?
Becoming part of the Grace Marin community and getting connected will involve
your willingness to participate in a Community Group, Inquirers',
our weekly women's group Mug and Muffin, monthly film nights, book
discussions, men's breakfasts, and local social service projects.
Getting connected with God and other people is possible and desirable, but
it will require a sacrifice of time, energy, and resources.
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Community Groups meet weekly and serve as the
primary means of community and gospel transformation
at Grace Marin. They are a safe place for adults
and children to learn to live by faith in Christ
together.
In community, people are listened to, trusted,
and known. These groups consist of discussion,
sharing, prayer, and strategic community investment,
and are facilitated by trained leaders who are
given continued oversight and support.
Individual groups are geared to cultivate an environment where Jesus Christ is
experienced in his presence and power, such that his Spirit ministers to participants
so that each person is cared for and encouraged to pursue a God-pleasing life.
Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, whether skeptical or mildly curious
about Christianity, or whether you are already a committed follower of Jesus
Christ, our Community Groups welcome you.
We live in a fragmented and hurried county, in
a rootless and transient culture. And consistent
with our broader philosophy of ministry, the intention
of our
Community Groups is not to encourage surface-level relationships, tribal Christian language,
or easy answers. Were not interested religious 'how-tos' or self-help
or 'church as usual.' Our desire is that Christ would be honored and the gospel
of grace would change us, because it's the only thing that can. Its with
the hope of this promise of the gospel that we encourage you to enter into
deeper community at Grace Marin, where questions are encouraged, doubt
is welcomed, and belief is celebrated.> details
MUG AND MUFFIN
Mug and Muffin is an opportunity for women to gather together to get to know, value, and care for one another as we explore the realms of Christian grace and some of the ways in which this grace impacts different aspects of our lives. Fall details are forthcoming. Please contact Rachel Pelander for info and directions (rachel@gracemarin.org).> calendar
INQUIRERS'
The Inquirers' Class is a formal introduction to Grace Marin.
Here you will learn how to best learn about and participate in the life and
ministry of our church. We'll discuss our philosophy, theology, organization,
and committment to Marin County. Inquirers' is a Saturday event hosted
quarterly at the home of Rod and Gwen Miles. Participation is required for
those considering membership at Grace Marin, but attending Inquirers' in
no way requires you to join. It's simply a way for you to learn more about
our church and for us to get to know you. No strings attached.
Who should attend Inquirers'? Anyone and everyone
who is a regular attender at Grace Marin, new or old. Perhaps
you have just started attending Grace Marin and would like an
overview of the church or you have spent a little time in a Community Group and
wonder, What
might come next in the membership process?
Watch the Grace Marin calendar for the next scheduled
class and sign up on Sunday mornings. Inquirers' includes
breakfast and lunch. > calendar |
