Our Story

Grace Church of Marin is a newly-begun church. In 2006 a group began gathering in the hopes that they might become a worshiping congregation through which God's flourishing might come to exist more beautifully and deeply in Marin County. man and baby

Believing that the gospel is the good news that transforms not just souls but communities, cities and ultimately, one day, all things, they wanted a church not just in Marin but for Marin.

That vision continues to unfold, slowly, in fits and starts, but surely. GCM is now a congregation of a few hundred men, women and children. We gather on Sundays to publicly celebrate Jesus as the world's true king, and we partner with organizations throughout Marin that seek the welfare of those most in need around us.

We are newly-begun, but we are not original. GCM in practice and belief is proudly located within the main stream of the historic Christian faith as summarized and celebrated in the great catholic (universal) expressions: The Apostle's and Nicean Creeds.

We are also children of the Protestant Reformation and its emphasis on God's lordship and grace in all spheres of life. Helpful summaries of these views can be found in documents such as the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Heidelberg Catechism.

In addition to these historical ties, GCM is also connected to the broader church geographically. Nationally, we are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America. This connection provides us with partnership in mission, accountability, and support.
